Non-Surgical Root Canal

Non-Surgical Root Canal

We’re sure you’ve heard of the “dreaded” root canal – the one that makes people hesitant to see a dentist. However, our non-surgical root canals are actually much easier than many people would believe. In fact, they aren’t much different from a typical filling and can save you from more complex treatments like dental implants or bridges.

What is a Non-Surgical Root Canal?

Root canals are needed after decay has reached the dental pulp inside the tooth, causing an infection. The pulp contains things like blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue. The procedure is very common, as over 14 million are completed every year!

Before we begin, we’ll numb the area to prevent you from feeling any pain or discomfort. We will then drill a small hole to access the inside of the tooth. After that, the dentist will remove the infected pulp and clean out the area before filling it. To protect the tooth from further decay, Dr. Freeman will cap the tooth with a dental crown.

What Are the Symptoms of an Infected Tooth?

Tooth infections tend to be very noticeable. However, the infections can be prevented if you see your dentist for a biannual visit. It will allow us to take care of cavities before the decay reaches the inside of your tooth. Here are some things to look out for.
